The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is an annual college entrance exam in India conducted by the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) and the Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS).
The purpose of the test is to offer admission to NISER & UM DAE CEBS to best scoring candidates. The two institutes are very well-known and reputable ones in the country. Both offer admissions to various undergraduate programs.

Nest 2022 Syllabus & Marking Scheme
The question paper of the examination was divided into five sections General Knowledge, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics. Each section contains 50 total marks. The General Knowledge question section is compulsory.
The candidate can attempt all four of the remaining sections out of which the best three will be taken to calculate the final marks and percentile. The completely correct answer will give candidates 4 marks and wrong answers have no negative marking as the students will be awarded 0 Marks.

The Cut Off Marks will be available along with the outcome of the exam on July 5th. The cut-off marks will determine who can participate in the NEST Counselling 2022. The cut-off will be set based on the overall percentage of marks acquired by maximum students. The minimum marks to pass the exam is different according to course and group.
