Health

The health desk

Qasim Khan

Health coverage in this paper is about institutions and evidence: ministries and public-health agencies, hospitals as employers and as care systems, medicines regulators, insurers, and the research that changes a guideline.

The World Health Organization, national CDCs and health ministries, the FDA, EMA, MHRA, and their peers are sources. A guidance document is a guidance document. It is not a diagnosis of the reader. We will not publish treatment plans, supplement pitches, or “what to eat for” lists dressed as news.

Outbreaks, drugs, and money

Case counts need a date, a geography, and a definition. A drug story needs the trial phase, the sponsor, and the regulator’s actual decision — approved, rejected, restricted, or still under review. Hospital finance and pharma as industries also belong on Business. The underlying papers belong on Science.

If a story could be read as advice about your body, we have written it wrong. Pitches: editorial@lapress.org.
